    Lock 50, the last of the Four Locks, was constructed in 1838 with the same materials as the other three locks: blue-grey limestone, oak timber and iron. It had a lift of 8.25 feet and was approximately 101 feet long and 14.50 feet wide. National Park Service, Cultural Landscapes Inventory
