St. Mary's Assumption Church was founded in 1863, in the middle of the Civil War, for German immigrants. Blessed Sacrament Church, originally a Mission Church of St. John the Evangelist, was established as a parish in 1945. All three parishes were closed in November 2010 and Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish was established on November 21, 2010.
