La Porte Cemetery

I have an appreciation for history and I will say that when I was looking for a cemetery for my sister, this is the one I chose. I have an aunt buried here and have seen how they have been making strides in improving the cemetery. The final resting place of a loved one can and is very important to members of the family, so I wanted her close and to be able to let the kids decorate without having their stuff removed. This is the place my mother has chosen as her resting place and every time I go it looks better and better, so I applaud her decision. Keep up the good work volunteers and cemetery workers.

The headstones in your picture (stating they had not been placed yet) were carved incorrectly and left onsite by the monument company. The city will not pick them up. We have been working hard to get the cemetery cleaned up for the past several months and are making progress every day. We have reached out for volunteers multiple times and not once have I seen the previous reviewer - who lives in the area - show up to help. This is a labor of love by those who have family here and we're in it for the long run... with or without you.
