We recently adopted a baby cockatiel from Avila Aviary and could not be happier with our experience and our new pet! I had been searching for a while at local pet stores for cockatiels but was unsuccessful finding any, and I also searched at some local bird specialty stores but the cockatiels they had there were very scared and skittish and not tame at all. Then I found Avila Aviary and I realized what a gem I had found! These cockatiels are hand raised, hand fed, tame, and from a loving environment. Many of these cockatiels come from champion lines - they have parents and grandparents that have won “best in show” and many other bird contests, so needless to say, these are high quality cockatiels! Their coloration is exquisite, nothing like I’ve ever seen before in cockatiels. I was searching for a very sweet cockatiel and I found just that. I wanted a bird that would be good with my 3 children - a cockatiel that would be comfortable being held and pet A LOT! The cockatiel we selected has been a perfect addition to our family. He is exactly what I was looking for in a bird. The breeders at Avila Aviary are very experienced and knowledgeable and took plenty of time discussing with me the care and needs of our new pet. I had 2 pages of questions I wanted to ask, and they sat with me patiently, while I fired off all my cockatiel questions! Upon leaving with our new family member, I felt comfortable and confident with my decision to get this bird. Our cockatiel has developed such a big personality - he is so funny and entertaining. He whistles and chortles all the time. We love him! This was a very positive experience for us. Don’t hesitate to adopt a cockatiel from Avila Aviary - they’re terrific. ????

There are new eggs in the nest boxes in the aviary. It's too early to be sure about fertility yet, but if fertile, the hatching will start later in October for chicks possibly available for Christmas and the New Year.
