Sombrero stables

Today we took a 2 hour ride with our guide David. The place itself is awesome despite being right off the side of the road. There were a ton of beautiful horses for you to watch. We were early so the guy (pretty sure the owner) said we could go ahead with another group that was smaller if we wanted. We did. My friend and I got larger horses because we're larger people but didnt make a deal about it, which I appreciated. I got to ride Whirlwind and my friend rode Lenny. Beautiful boys who treated us well on our journey. The ride was beautiful as well. David was very nice, helpful and told us a few historical facts along the way. I did enjoy the whole experience but the only thing I did not like was how rocky and steep the ride was. You go up about 1000ft (from Lake Estes, according to the guide) then back down. I have been riding a few times before but it was a little scary going down some really steep points. I understand that's just how the area is so I'm not placing blame to the company. Just a warning to those who look into this place, it's not exactly a calm easy ride. I do recommend it and I would like to go back for the 1 hour ride. Though the 2 hour ride was too long for me, it is worth the deal for sure.

They were awesome! Did a 2 hour ride an had a blast. We accidentally booked the wrong date and they let us change the date without any issues or questions. The guide was fantastic and had us laughing and kept pointing out neat facts and things about the area.

Had a fantastic time on the dinner ride. Lexi (?) Was our guide and she was just great. The dinner was delicious and the perfect way to round off a horse ride in the mountains!

We loved this. This was the first time 2 of my kids ever rode a horse. The staff was patient with them and gave great, kid appropriate direction. We did the 1 hour tour and am thankful for our 1st time as a family of 6 that we did 1 hour. I don't think our little kids would have been able to ride for 2. The scenery was spectacular and the staff was a well oiled machine. Looking forward to coming back - sometime soon.
