  Beautiful area and wonderful back packing. Fantastic scenery consisting of giant boulders and rock spires. The trail can be a little rocky in some places so sticks are recommended. The trail does not follow the water for large sections so camping near a water source can be problematic.

  It's a truly unique area: huge rock formations, the Harmonica Arch, the historical cabins, the "Lost Creek" that disappears underground for a ways, the remote lost valley. If you really want to see the area, hike the whole loop, 27 miles. (There's a good map on All Trails app.) Can access the loop from 2 ends. 1) The Goose Creek trailhead is the southeast corner, accessed off county road 211 between Tarryall road and Cheesman Lake. This is the lower elevation end. 2) The Wigwam and McCurdy trailhead is the northwest corner, the higher elevation end. It is accessed at the Lost Creek Campground, at the far eastern end of Lost Park Road. Access that via South Park US 285 just over Kenosha Pass.

Goose Creek Trailhead: Drive west from Denver on US 285 for 23 miles to Pine Junction. Turn south (left) at Pine Junction on to Jefferson County 126 toward Pine Turn right and drive 4.7 miles to the Goose Creek Trailhead access road. Half way along this road you'll pass Goose Creek Campground.
