  Perfect touristy place, but camping presents quite the scenery, especially in the early mornings as the sunrise burns off the dew from the gorgeous green grasses. And an Elk herd gently mowes their way across the postcard perfect meadow that surrounds the early Big Thompson, freshly flowing from the mountain tops from which it was born!

  East coaster here. Did the long road trip to Colorado. Camped in Moraine Park and it was amazing. Truly one if the most enjoyable experiences of my life. Felt like I jumped into a rocky mountain post card. This was in The first week of October which happens to be the peak of the elk rut. Bull elk bugeling all day and all night. This was a bonus on top of all the spectacular landscapes and scenery.

  My husband and I got married in Moraine Park, so I'm a bit biased, but it is a very beautiful place. Elk often are found there, especially during rut (mating season) in August and September. It is a perfect place for photo ops and there are a number of trails that are not too difficult starting from this area.

  Wonderful area. The Elk and Deer interesting to watch. Glad the Rangers are there to monitor so animals can live in piece and safety.

  The views are incredible and wildlife is amazing. One day while we were at Moraine Park and we counted 14 elk bulls out in the meadow at the same time. We have found it is the best place in the park to view and photograph elk.
