Really beautiful place though I do miss when it was a lot less crowded. So many people visit the park now, it's hard to see the beauty through the crowds. Learn to take the shuttles early and hit those popular spots early too. Love this park though and all the wildlife you get to see.

My favorite hike I’ve ever done was “Sky Pond” In the Rocky Mountain National Park! It was so beautiful but also very challenging. Definitely not for the faint of heart because you have to climb a waterfall but I’m scared of heights and I still did it.

Rocky Mountain National Park is a wonderful and scenic place to visit. It is accessible year round but areas of the park do close in the winter. The trails and facilities are well maintained and nice. The nearby town of Estes Park makes an excellent stop on the way into the park and is worthy of a trip on it's own.

Visited the park in January, The sunset from the mountain was amazing. We did see deer and elk. The restrooms are rustic but clean around the park. I would suggest coming with a full tank of gas and bring food and water since you could easily spend the whole day hiking and driving. Hidden Valley has a little area for sledding and a clear path that people ski. Park map is below

CANNOT RECOMMEND HIGHLY ENOUGH! Even with three small kids (5 and below), this park was a perfect place to enjoy time together. The needs of elk in the mountain passes were incredible to see. We also encountered several elk up close while hiking one of the lower creek trails.
