I was scheduled for an extraction, sinus lift and implant. I, as so many other patients who dont like surprizes, did my research. How long will it take? Will there be bruising and swelling? How much pain should I expect during and after? Nothing i read prepared me. The staff was knowledgeable, comforting and superiorily capable. The injections were as they always are for dental work including the palatial. Bothersome at worse. The procedure went so smoothly i was able to relax enough to sleep. No medication just the calming feeling of being safe. Same day--so little pain I didnt even need tylenol. I take a type of pain pill at night for restless leg so wouldnt have noticed that I was in much pain. Day 2--slight difficulties. Difficult to remember soft diet because there is absolutely no pain, nothing to remind me. Even greater difficulty remembering to not blow my nose. I feel a little congested on the sinus lift side but, again, the absence of discomfort isnt there as a reminder to not blow. I have one more bone graft and implant to do. I know enough to know not to always expect the same favorable outcome. But since this first one was so easy, no pain, no swelling, no bruising, if the second drops below that mark I expect I could live with a tylenol or pain pill or two. DR Mike Johnson and the entire staff have earned my great respect and admiration. Thank you. And, by the way, for any patient taking the time to read my ramblings, I spent 15 years as a chair side dental assistant and I know quality care and treatment when I see it. Vicki Bergstrom
