  Karl is an excellent private music instructor that not only gets results, but helps inspire his students to not just play music but to really learn to create music.
  
  I was looking for private saxophone lessons for my 14 year old son. While he had progressed and shown talent early with the saxophone, his music teacher at school didn't have time with all the many students to assist with fine tuning his craft.
  I had talked with several other teachers before finding Karl. The others were all about how much they had accomplished and how much they would be able to help him.
  When I met Karl and discussed lessons for my son, it was a different experience from the beginning. He asked many question about my son, what type of music he liked, what goals my son and I wanted to achieve from private lessons. This was a refreshing change. It was only after looking him up after meeting him, that we learned of all of his experience and accomplishments as a professional musician and teacher. He even offered us a no strings free introductory lesson so we could make sure it was a good fit for all.
  His demeanor is caring and encouraging, celebrating milestones along the way. The experience has been wonderful as Karl has helped my son improve his technique, even identifying some bad habits that he had created trying to learn some advanced skills on his own. A current example was this past lesson, he helped him with a different mouthpiece and when the ligature he had didn't hold the reed as well as it should, Karl lent him one to use and practice with. The result, my son, a freshman, auditioned and earned a lead solo for one of the songs in his marching band performance!
