I don't understand why Jack has negative reviews on here. He was very helpful regarding an issue with my car before I ever chose to patronize him. The prices and policies were laid out in writing before I ever conducted a transaction. The transaction was very smooth and I would do business with him in the future.
I was surprised by some of the negative feedback here – none of it speaks to the capabilities and talents of the shop owner and his wife. Most of it is petty and has much to do with a customer disrespecting a business owner’s decisions to the way he runs his business. I for one DO get my oil changes done here and they do not even come close to $300! If you have chosen to buy a VW you have chosen to buy a more complicated piece of machinery than many other vehicles. Many mechanics unwittingly do more damage by not having a clue to their way around a VW. I learned this the hard way. If you have a German car you need a German car specialist for the best service and they’re usually extremely expensive and few and far between. European Parts Emporium is by far, the best experience I have had at a shop. Jack is thorough in his work and is hands-down the most knowledgeable VW mechanic I know. The shop is reasonably priced, very accommodating to my schedule (repairs have been done literally overnight!), and Lori and Jack are such wonderful people. I’m happy to support a local business that is honest, fair and works hard. It doesn’t hurt that they have the most adorable four-legged apprentices in house sometimes. If you’re looking for a fair and reasonable mechanic in Orange County, this shop is a Hudson Valley hidden gem. They really know VWs inside and out and are very very reasonable for such highly skilled and knowledgeable people working in this industry.
