Best Dog Grooming shop I’ve ever been to! My dog loves loves going there. Eric is the best with sensitive dogs. I highly recommend

I love this place so let me explain why I put four stars instead of five. My jack has been going there for almost 4 years he’s really sweet and about 15 1/2 years old. He used to be one of the favorite old dogs at the shop.

About three months ago there was an incident and we weren’t quite sure why after getting brought out to be put back in the car post service, Eric put a towel on him rubbing him dry and he jumped and snapped at Eric leaving a cut on his arm. Jackie mediately felt bad I can tell by the look in his eyes, he calmed down as if in shock very quickly and Eric seemed not only distraught but very angry with both of us.

I was surprised given how much he typically loves Jack I know it was startled and shocked to as Jack has never done that. My baby Jack all the sudden felt very sad.

I apologized emphatically to Eric but he seemed very off put by it in that moment which was strange given his typical nice demeanor. I felt so bad but also dismissed by him as I consistently apologized and he said that he understood because Jack was old but I felt in that moment we would never be able to return.

To my dismay the same shop that would typically call us if they didn’t see Jack for a while we’ve never heard from him since and because of the situation I’ve been afraid to ever even attempt to take Jack back. Jack is nearing the end of his years and I’m sure He misses his baths his haircut and the general environment and Eric especially. However I felt very bad and very sad that they’ve never even so much as called to check on him. I gave them four stars because after realizing that only did the towel scare him on his head I found a severe cut on the left side of his body which must’ve come from the clippers and it’s never ever fully healed. And then realized it wasn’t just him snapping at Eric that he was actually hurt and scared. He can’t stand well but is spirited. One of the few things he had I don’t even mention. The words “going to the groomers” always perked him up and I know heartbroken he is. I’d frankly be uncomfortable given the response to me in front of a slue of people now knowing he was really hurt. Their perception is that I have some wild animal who bites and it’s simply unfair looking back. All dogs have their moments and it certainly was rare and not purposeful. Saddened that it wasn’t addressed. ?

I have been taking my dog to The Dog Grooming Shop for years and their staff always does a fantastic job! Eric is very kind and always works to ensure my baby looks her best!! Highly recommend this grooming salon for anyone looking to receive premium care at great prices!
