I feel truly blessed to have Maria and Otto as my children's care providers. They are our second family. I have two children, my daughter is 6 and my son is 4 and they love Maria and Otto. They have been there a little over a year now. They have taught my children good moral values. They take the time to do homework with them, and read to them. By the time I go to pick up my children they've already eaten dinner and my daughter has her homework completed. Maria and Otto are heaven sent, they are the best. My children love them, even on the weekends they want to go to daycare...lol. I have to remind them that it is the weekend and that daycare is close. Just knowing that my children feel comfortable, safe and loved brings me so most peace and joy to my heart. I am so great full to have found them and I plan to continue with them. I highly recommend Herman Family Daycare!!!

Herman Family Child Care is with no doubt the BEST Family Childcare in Downey. The owners known as Otto & Maria are in complete compliance with the State and are Licensed. My daughter who is now 8 years old has been under the care of Otto & Maria for the past 14 months and boy oh boy does my daughter LOVE them. As a single mother and new resident of LA County and with no friends and family members to rely on or entrust my daughter with was an extremely tough decision, but I must say that Otto & Maria have been a true blessing in our lives and have made my decision worthwhile. They treat us like FAMILY and most important the have such a harmonious, lovable and welcoming environment that really makes the children feel at home and safe. My daughter absolutely LOVES the fact that they always get delicious & nutritious home cooked meals and that Otto has helped her enhance her reading & math skills. Maria is also a great woman and is constantly ensuring that the house is super clean for the children to enjoy. Trips to the park and library are great getaways for the children. Otto & Maria really help with ensuring that the children get valuable life lessons and values instilled in them, which is something that many child care centers do not have time to offer . Maria and Otto Herman have been my daughter's caregivers since she was 2 (she's now 5) and they have been the biggest blessing to my life and daughter. I now have a newborn and entrusting him to anybody else is not even a thought or option. He actually begins his care with them today! Their atmosphere is very comforting. My child has grown to love Maria & Otto like grandparents and it's very clear they love her the same as well. While Maria is always making sure the environment and children are very clean, she nourishes the kids with mostly mexican home-cooked delicious meals and Otto takes the time out to teach the children hands-on skills. He thoroughly and patiently teaches them school basics and as a result, my daughter is testing very advanced in school. Television is very minimal (?) and instead the kids stay active playing outside in the patio or playing games inside. The amount of kids have never been more than 5 at a time which keeps the behavior in check. I HIGHLY recommend Herman's Family Day Care. I feel as if I've had my own family taking care of my daughter with an added educational bonus these years. ???
