Carlsbad Tavern

We stopped in here on a Saturday evening. It is a popular venue so parking was at a premium, and we had a bit of a wait. They offer a wide selection of choices on their menu with a focus on New Mexican style food. I enjoyed their Enchantment Platter. The other guests had everything from a hamburger to a enchiladas plate to a chopped salad. The food was delicious and in large quantity, and I can recommend this restaurant for good food and friendly, attentive service. Also, we were seated on the patio which was lovely on a spring evening.

Restaurant was recommended during a hike at the Grand Canyon as one of the best places to go in the Phoenix area. The theme is a play on Carlsbad Cavern National Park and is entertaining for a family to visit. The New Mexican style food was excellent and the Prickly Pear margaritas were superb. Our waiter Noah was witty and entertaining and made the experience memorable. Our family appreciated his hustle. One of the best waiters we have had in years! Great food and good staff are just what we needed during our vacation. Can’t wait to visit again!

This was my first experience with this establishment. It is easily found but does not jump out when driving by nor does the outside elude to what you will find inside. This is a cozy place with delicious New Mexico inspired food.
The decor is designed to reflect a cavern as its a play on Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico.
Everything we had was delicious and everything we saw come from the kitchen looked amazing! Highly recommend for an enjoyable and casual dining experience with some ambiance.
