Hamlin Park

I love this park. It's about as close as you can get to a patch of natural woodland in the city. I come here for the woodpeckers and the solitude. Even when busy, there's still lots of space.

I love urban hiking in Hamlin Park. There’s a great network of trails to explore as well as a playground/field for the kids and a picnic area. It’s a great park to visit when you want to get away but don’t have the time to get out of the city.

Moved close in 1948 and my little brother and I grew up in the park. Many found memories I remember opening the bike trail that followed the road and racing our bikes down the narrow curvey paved trail. Many summer day camps. Glad to see it’s still there.

This was a fun place to go. I particularly enjoyed the day trails and seeing all the families out on this grey morning in Shoreline. Lots of canines, all leashed and we'll behaved with well behaved, considerate owners. Google should really include the trails here on Maps like they do for many other parks.

Not sure if I should vamp this place and keep it safe from being used for any other purpose ever, or keep it secret. Because for someone who loves trees and forest walks, it is the greatest park in the Seattle area. It is magic inexpressible. You will be transported away from the houses and buildings, from the trashcans and commutes. You will be in the woods, paths and tree covered hills, kids building forts out of sticks and logs, room to ride and run, lonely spots, Majesty, birds, friendly neighbors. Incredible place. I do morning walks there that correlate with good days.
