Takara Ramen

Of course this review is geography-adjusted--we are talking about Richmond VA metro area. This Japanese food outfit is run by Korean Americans. Not sure if it is a chain or not, but it probably is one of the more authentic eateries. Unlike the many other sushi restaurants run by Chinese operators, this one offers many common Japanese dishes---that s right, sushi is not everyday Japanese food---and excellent sake choices. Unassuming tiny store front in a midtier shopping strip, it has many elements of a common Japanese diner. Put it this way, you will more likely to find yourself among actual Japanese patrons here than at Sushi King across the street.

Great spot for ramen and more. Staff were kind and helpful. Highly recommend trying it out. Our family will be back for sure.

Chicken Shoyu Ramen is delicious. I always have to grab the Takara appetizer too. Everything is always fresh and cooked just right.

Awesome place! Great food and great service. Obviously they have more than just ramen. Everything I've tried here is delicious. Broad street one has unfriendly / poor service. Westchester one is great!

We stopped in for lunch this afternoon and it was so good. Very reasonable pricing for excellent service and OUTSTANDING food. The Ramen was great as well as the pork buns and everything else my family ate. Definitely worth your time and we would absolutely be regulars here if we weren't just visiting for the weekend.
