Grear Island of Lake Norman

What an amazing experience there are so many cool fun things to find on the island and always a nice and relaxing place to tie up. I heard there was a mysterious man named Toby who stops by the island regularly to clean up and he also watches after the wildlife. a pretty interesting spot. and you can even watch the osprey 2/47 on a live Web Cam.

The island has no official name despite this listing, is owned by Duke Energy (not some individual entity), and is not actively managed. It is open for everyone to enjoy responsibly (please don't litter), and is a beautiful, serene place many local families enjoy.

A must see while on Lake Norman. My daughter and I stopped by when we were out in the jet ski and we were so glad we did! Beautiful scenery, small sand beaches with shallow water, and little Easter eggs to find all over the island. I highly recommend you make a visit when out on the lake..... we will be back.

Little slice of heaven!! Before, during or after a fun day on the water, stop and search of the beauty of nature on this small plot which offers a sand beach, shallow water for the little ones to swim. Sand trails to explore and find some treasures!! We enjoy visiting every trip we make to the wonderful Lake Norman to see if we can find anything new on the island!

Love this little nugget of nature on Lake Norman! Great spot for tourists and locals to stop by, check out the osprey nest (cam) and see the beauty of the intertwined tree roots on the outer rim of the island.
