My granddaughter and I went to the Locks then we went to the National Great Rivers Museum. It was a lot of fun. There were many hands on activities for her, a movie theater and a tour of the Locks! I would visit again!!

Great out-of-the-way place to visit! I love the Mississippi River. I try to pass this love on to my kids, so we came to learn together. The tour was very informative, and the facility is quite a feat.

This place is awesome. Some places only have signs and pictures you read. This place also had an interactive display, great video on Cahokia Mound builders and a show. (I didn't see the show.) There's also a wonderful tour. You can also walk outside to see the dam. Family oriented and handicapped accessible. Has free parking that also includes handicapped parking. We also purchased our America the Beautiful passes here though admittance to the museum is free. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Gift shop was very nice too. We plan on visiting here in the near future.

Very informative museum. No charge. Lots of exhibits that explain the lock and dam system on the Mississippi River and how river traffic transports materials and goods. Several interesting interactive exhibits. Staff very helpful. They have 3 tours per day of the lock and dam; however because it was a 5-degree day we elected to skip. Bald eagles can be observed feeding from the waters below the dams. A bald eagle nest can be seen just east of the museum; staff had a scope trained on the nest during our visit. We plan to visit again on another day when not so cold and tour the lock and dam.
