Vegan East

Previously I’ve visited Vegan East and was disappointed in the ratio between frosting and cake (somehow too much frosting). However this time I was really impressed with the cake jar and the cinnamon roll. Both were so great. The cake jar was well worth the price. It lasted me two servings. There is really cozy seating within the restaurant and on the front porch.

The building's exterior may not be all that noticeable, the sign is not very flashy. The inside of the building, however, can make miracles happen. A kid with food allergies peered wide eyed into a dessert case that was completely safe for him. For the first time he could truly choose anything he wanted. Thank you!

I have 4 cheat days a year where I eat refined sugar. I eat a 100% plant based diet. There is not a lot of vegan options for me to choose from in the Twin Cities. I went all out when I went to Vegan East. I purchased the ice cream sandwich, cinnamon roll, cupcakes and the s'mores bar. They were all delicious! I am not a cup cake person, but the cookie dough cupcake was amazing. I would have had no idea that any of these treats were vegan. Side note the owner: The pop tart was a few days expired, which should have been noticed by the cashier. The taste was fine. I doubt you'll change the recipe on my suggestion, but the pop tart could use about half the sugar. It is ultra sweet. The cinnamon role I ate was frozen then defrosted (which I was told about ), which made it a tiny bit dry. I think if I would have microwaved it, I don't think I would have noticed the slight dryness. Keep of the good work! Please come to Saint Paul some day!

I love this place! The atmosphere is so cute and wholesome. The food is just as wonderful. The sandwiches are excellent!

I bought a chocolate and strawberry cake for my coworkers and all loved their slice. Some even said it was one of the best cakes they've ever had, which I totally agree with.

OMG! We wanted herbivorous butcher sandwiches and left with food AND dessert. The spicy mustard sandwiches were warm with fresh, homemade mustard. We ate lunch on their outside porch on a beautiful day in May. Topped off the meal with a Vegan East PB bar. Would go back again and again.
