Finally went to check this place out, and I'm glad I did. The roads were well maintained, and the wildlife was abundant. I saw about a dozen sandhill cranes, 20-30 trumpeter (tundra?) swans, and a load of other bird life. Got out and walked for a pleasant mile and a half. Only encountered one other person, walking an adorable dog, and maybe four or five other cars. Generally it was a very enjoyable experience, and a place I plan to return to.

But it would just be super fuc*ing swell if people picked up their spent shotgun shells. I picked up half a grocery bag full of that garbage.

The hunting is down right lousy from the huge crowds of people, but the scenery is fantastic. If you're a photographer in the greater twin cities area this should be on your shortlist of places to go. Outside of hunting season there are very few people.

Very safe to store your items and the lady who handles the rentals is extremely nice and helpful.

Rode my motorcycle here over the summer. I loved the quiet and secluded forest roads. Great place near the twin cities to get away from the hustle and bustle
