Last week I traveled from Tucson, Arizona to Arlington, Texas to take a 4-day glass class taught by Larry Pile at Contempo Art Glass. Larry taught us the magic behind his beautiful weaves and many other fusing tips and tricks. It was an outstanding learning opportunity and everyone in the class left with a gorgeous piece of art! The class experience was further enhanced by Kathy Barnett’s exquisite glass shop, Contempo Art Glass. She has an enormous and beautiful supply of art glass, and she encouraged us to choose our favorite colors of sheet glass and accessories for our projects. The classroom is large with comfortable worktables, lots of coldworking equipment and a variety of kilns needed to accommodate many students and provide excellent education for all levels of glass artists. We had a very hands-on class and Kathy was an extremely gracious host. She allowed us to use her shop as if it were our own studio. She also helped organize daily lunches and offered complementary beverages during class. Contempo Art Glass has all the supplies needed for any glass artist, and a lovely gallery to purchase glass art made by various artists. I highly recommend Contempo Art Glass!!!

I found Contempo fantastic for two reasons. First it is a beautifully curated gallery that contains unique and handcrafted works of glass art. If you are looking for a present for someone special, or even for you, this the place to go. In addition to all the lovely glass art, Contempo sells the supplies necessary to create your own glass art. Kathy, the owner, has compiled a plethora of glass supplies that you didn't even know that you needed until you saw the them. The glass items spark creativity. So if you are looking for a glass present or glass supplies, stop in.

This is a great place to enjoy good company, shop or take a class and learn a fun hobby. There's lots of beautiful glass art to view and purchase. Kathy is an extremely talented artist and sells one of a kind pieces to accent your home and/office. There are glass art classes offered throughout the year in a fun and relaxed setting. My husband and I took the beginner glass fusion class and had so much fun! Kathy is a great instructor, very knowledgeable and helpful. My husband enjoyed it as well even though he swears he is not an artist.

I also took the beginner fusion jewelry class with my sister and that was also great. Kathy has an awesome selection of glass so we had a blast letting our creative side out.

I highly recommend taking classes at Contempo Art, you will not be disappointed.
