Fort De Soto Boat Ramp

Plenty of ramps. No delays. Plenty of trailer parking. Reasonable parking rates.

Great boat ramps, but very busy on weekends. This boat ramp puts you into Bunces Pass with easy access to the Gulf. I believe there are 12 boat ramps, half are steeper to accomodate larger boats.You can leave your car+trailer for up to 3 days, at $6/day. I've launched a few times for 3-day weekend trips but have to arrive early on weekends because the main parking lot fills up. Overflow parking is available, but I've had to wait on line to get in and out of the ramps. Hose connector so you can hose down your boat. Overhanging palm trees make launching a sailboat a little challenging, be careful which row you park in!

We love this boat ramp and although it can get busy, I have never not been able to find parking with the huge overflow lot they have here. Lots of ramp lanes, nice docks AND a fresh water rinse down area (bring your own hose). The wash down area is nice but it gets filled up pretty quick...needs to be expanded on.

Very interesting! Must visit if you enjoy history, particularly war history! The Fort was built with organization in mind.. it awaits you here at Fort De Soto, declared a national historical landmark in 1977 and recently as a local historical landmark by Pinellas County in 2014. This peninsula is a treasure to the history of our nation. It was so intriguing to learn (quite mind boggling too) the ingenious men who defended our country! They engineered and manufactured weapons, built housing, created food sources, and produced massive mortars containing incredible force and magnitude, we could strike targets up to 6 miles away! The Fort shows the unique approach men used while defending our nation! The walkway built (above the Fort) has many steps leading to the rooftop, providing spectacular beach and ocean views.
