He walked me around to look at his projects. Quality work from what I seen.

Washburn Classic methodically removed the original wood from my 1947 Chevrolet 3100 pickup and installed the new bed and bed strips. As an add-on, they successfully diagnosed and fixed the non-working fuel gauge. I could not have been more pleased with the quality of work and turnaround time. I highly recommend them for restoration and rebuild of your classic project. Thanks Shawn!!!

I brought my vintage bronco from upstate New York to Shawn looking to get a complete restoration. He responded quickly and gave a very detailed explanation of the process that he and his team would be doing to it. Throughout the process Shawn provided progress photos of what they were working on and repairs we didn’t foresee. In the end I was blown away by the final product, the attention to detail and honesty about the work done is what drove this project above and beyond my expectation. If you’re looking to get a show quality restoration I highly recommend coming to these guys. 5/5

I am the fortunate owner of the 1987 Toyota Pickup that Shawn transformed from a truck I liked into the truck of my dreams. Every part of this experience has been great, and I wish I would have gone to Washburn Classic Restorations sooner.

I had some work performed by a different restoration shop down in the Aberdeen, NC area. They took forever, did half-ass work, charged a lot, and didn't communicate with me during any part of the process. A lot of things that shop did were quick fixes that, upon inspection, were complete garbage. Some of the rust 'repair' they did was just to spray bedliner material over problem areas. On top of that, they charged way too much for the work they were performing and were non-responsive when I called to ask how the project was going. They took longer to rebuild the engine and do some no-quality rustproofing than Washburn did to do a frame-off restoration.

A little later, I brought my truck to Shawn and everything was instantly better. We first did a joint inspection of the truck and talked about what I was looking for in the project. That was followed up by a contract where I listed, and Shawn agreed to, the things that I wanted done. Shawn told me the things that were money sinks and we found compromises that got to what I was after without breaking the bank. The conversation was ongoing throughout the project and this communication was invaluable.

When I dropped off my truck Shawn took it on as it was his own -- his attention to detail rivals that of a Drill Sergeant doing a morning inspection. He showed me what he was going to do, and then did it to a standard above what I expected. I didn't expect for him to find rot on the side of the cab due to moisture trapped between the sound-proofing and the body, but he did. And then he fixed it so you can't tell it was there in the first place.

When a decision was needed, he gave me two or three options and talked about the pros/cons and cost of each. As an example, take a look at the pictures of the bed -- how far the bedliner goes over the bed is no accident. Shawn had me in the shop and he showed me what the different options would be like with tape lines. He gave me options on the tires, rims, door panels, carpet, rear bumper, etc. In each case, he gave me an estimate of costs and quality so I could make a decision I was comfortable with. I truly felt like he was trying to do the best job possible without separating me from my money.

My goals for this project were 1) rust mediation and prevention and 2) everything works like when it was new. The truck has that and then some now Shawn is done -- I have the truck I always wanted and it's built to last. Many thanks to Shawn and Washburn Classic Restorations for a job well done!
