Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park

Great for beginner Kayaking. Friends could rent there and felt safe in the calm waters.
Also they have picnic tables
to enjoy stopping to rest as you walk the different trails.

Nice place for a walk! Went with my folks and kids. Springs, shaded paths and boardwalks, kayak rentals, restrooms, and we found a pavilion a little ways up a path and took a break in the shade by the water. Not really sure what people expect from a park, but I had no complaints, enjoyed the visit, and I want to go again sometime - so, 5 stars from me!

Moderate walk to the water. I have a large kayak, so for me it was a bit difficult getting it to the launch, the park does provide a couple of kayak carts you can borrow, thank goodness. It was a great trip, not to many people, most of the shoreline is mangroves, not houses. It's a beautiful paddle out to the gulf, and you can see Durney Key in the distance, and a few of the stilted fishing shacks.
There is also a kayak rental at the park.

This park was only $4 to get in and had extensive, well-cared for walking trails. There were also educational signs along the trail. The low tide waterfall was awesome! There are also kayak rentals available.

Good walking trails, however some you have to watch your footing. There are a few Bald Eagles in this area and other birds to look at. They have kayaking rentals or bring your own. There are gators in this area so be aware. It is peaceful. Dogs are welcome.
