I like Romero's. The owners are very nice. But keep in mind there is no public restroom there

A little of everything. Well stocked friendly cashier/owner. An oasis in a small town.

They stayed open when closing temporarily was compensated by the fed. That they are cognizant of their place in the local community is self evident -- there are also two thriving churches in Pens Blanca, which may be key. Romero's market is an institution within its community, and has value far beyond its role as a "retail market".
