W.J. Thomas Splash Pad

This used to be one of Carrollton's city pools. It was in desperate need of an overhaul. However, the city closed it for budget reasons.
I was ecstatic when I discovered that the city converted it to this amazing splash pad! Way to go Carrollton!
Low maintenance, high reward.

UPDATE: The city upgraded the playground! Amazing climbing things for kids as well as artificial grass (instead of wood chips).

The splash pad is awesome BUT the people that go there for parties take over ALL of the shaded spots so no one else can enjoy the shade. We went on opening weekend and a seniors group took over every seat there. It should be for kids and their families. With it being so busy I don't think it's fair. The seniors have the library so why are they taking over a child's splash pad. None of them even used the splash pad.

Great splash park, I can’t believe how special it is. With many picnic tables and shade areas. First time coming here and we will definitely come back, many more times over the hot summer.

This is a great splash pad! I like the alternating fountains, as that makes it more fun for the kids. There is lots of running water for them to splash in as well if they don't feel like getting too close and personal with the spraying water. The water pressure isn't super intense for the most part, so littles can enjoy it. There is plenty of shaded seating around, perfect for snacks and meals. When the kids are tired of water play, there's a nicely updated playground just steps away that all ages can enjoy. Love that Carrollton has all these great play areas for free!
