Dr Shifflett did my disc replacement surgery. He is so professional and such an expert at what he does! But also so down to earth and treated me like I was his family. On my surgery day the nurses and his awesome anesthesiologist made me feel like they were there to really take care of me!. Now I am pain free!

I just returned home after an L5-S1 spinal fusion with Dr. Shifflett and his team of amazing Doctors. Dr. Shifflett is an amazing, caring and compassionate doctor. His nursing staff is amazing too. The two nurses I had when I woke from surgery were so sweet to me, they took care of me as my own mother would have. It makes me emotional that they were so good to me, it’s something I will never forget. If you need spinal surgery at some point in your life, I highly recommend Dr. Shifflett and his team. They are just wonderful. Thank you so much Doc!

Shifflett performed an artificial disc insertion on my L5S1 spine area. One year and three months after surgery my back is finally feeling overall normal again. Unlike many doctors, Shifflett is incredibly patient and focused on the person in front of him instead of rushing out of the room. He was also very comforting when I feared I'd hurt my back after the surgery. His assistant Hannah is a pleasure to work with also as well as his administrative staff. This is the first positive review I've written for any doctor.

On September 29, 2020 I underwent spinal fusion (L4,L5, S1) for chronic back pain. Dr. Shifflett was my surgeon. I had done all the preliminary treatments to no avail, i.e. cortisone injections, nerve ablations, physical therapy with another pain management doctor in Orange. I interviewed 3 back surgeons before deciding on Dr. Shifflett. The reality is that the surgery is extremely invasive and takes a good year to heal. On June 29 of this year I went back to Dr. Shifflett to have the titanium bracket and three titanium screws removed from the back incision. I am now on the road to this last phase of my recovery. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Shifflett! He is extremely knowledgeable. He is an EXCELLENT surgeon and has an excellent staff of knowledgeable people. This is a tough surgery, but I am happy I had this done!

Dr. Shifflett and his staff are incredible. My mom was working with his team from KY. Between the coordination of care and time zone differences, our treatment was still unparalleled. Dr. Shifflett is warm, kind, SMART and personable. He and his PA made several calls to us to explain our options. He reviewed my mom’s charts and scans, thoroughly and ordered a ton of other scans to make sure that he understood the entire story of my mom’s spine. No other provider had done that. He essentially diagnosed her multiple issues and then told me what needed to happen next. And when I thought he couldn’t be more helpful, he referred my mom to another provider who was better suited for her case, and his office facilitated that transition. Very skilled guy. Nice office and staff. Very humble and likable. I highly recommend him.
