Gaspar De Portola Middle School

Great school. Nice kids. Awesome staff. Lots of opportunities. Magnet is decent, academy is decent, and other classes are decent. On the scale of 1-10, I would rate it 9. Thanks Gaspar.

Ok, so please don't listen to the jealous kids that aren't in the Academy or in the Magnet programs. So, Portola is probably one of the most decent schools I've ever been to. Right now, I'm in 7th grade. You can't expect middle schools to be perfect where no one cusses and does stupid things. In this school, I have friends who are in regular, honors, honors accelerated, academy, and magnet. They're all pretty much treated the same except that the Academy is a special program running until high school. We have a great dean who actually takes care of problems at school. We have separate counselors for each grade who kind of helps with all the drama going on in the grade levels. Most of the teachers are ok: not too strict, not too nice. There's barely any bullying or drug-dealing going on. The school is 99% clean and has a pretty good budget. The auditorium is big with an updated sound system. The classes have a lot of new seats and desks. The PE field has new equipment and is being yearly checked. The lockers are fairly clean, and the hallways are cleaned every morning. The grass is always green and trimmed. We have teachers/counselors/aids walking around helping people. The after-school programs are great.

It's a nice school overall. I graduated from Portola in 2015. I have to be honest, I'm rating 4 stars because some of the staff were mean. I don't know what is it like there now but the years I've attended, I encountered mean staff/teachers.

Today I graduated on stage. Overall this year, this school has been good to me. Highly recommended
