Ascension Lutheran's Extended Day Preschool

We have so immensely enjoyed our time at Ascension. The teachers are genuinely loving, attentive, and enthusiastic. Rowan cannot wait to go to school every day. He loves his teachers and talks about his adventures with friends and sings all the songs at home. He has learned how to hold a pencil, write and recognize his name, arrange numbers in order, and sort colors and shapes. He has also fine tuned his abilities with the alphabet and counting to 20. He is also learning to express his emotions in a positive way. They make tons of creative arts and crafts and the kids have plenty of room and natural light to learn and play. The areas are tastefully decorated, clean and well organized. Everything is prompt and professional, while never giving a cold impression. The teachers recount special moments with each child, and always make me feel comfortable leaving him in their care. We had been trying to potty train at home for many months to not much avail, and when he started preschool, he was immediately staying dry all day. After a few weeks into the semester, he was fully potty trained and accident free. Miss Deanna and Miss DeeDee were so helpful and encouraging to him. I can't believe how well it measures up to more expensive learning centers. It really is a gem.

My daughter LOVES going to school here. All of the teachers are wonderful and treat the kids so well, it is clear how much they enjoy their jobs. My daughter is definitely a handful but Ms. Jenny & Ms. Dee Dee (hope I spelled that right!) always greet her in the morning and send her off in the afternoon with hugs, and I know that she is loved and well cared for. She is learning so much, can spell her name, and always comes home singing cute little songs she learned and stories about what her and her friends and teachers did that day. My family and I don't have enough great things to say about this program, and I can't wait to send my little guy there once he is old enough :)

Great preschool program! Small class sizes, attentive and kind teachers and staff, and an energetic curriculum have made this a valuable learning environment for our 3 year old who has mastered numbers, alphabet and lots of singing! I highly recommend ALC's preschool program, especially for those who are looking for a nurturing setting that will enable their preschooler to participate in and benefit from an educational program prior to "big" school.

Having had very NEGATIVE experiences in the realm of Christian education, I was HIGHLY skeptical when I learned that my niece was going to attend a Christian preschool. Whenever I visited Colorado, I would monitor my niece's reaction to the treatment which she was receiving while attending the institution. I would pay even closer attention to her behavior once I moved there. However, I saw that the more my niece smiled and laughed after being released for the day, the more I realized that she was in a very good and very loving place.

The staff is very caring and supportive-ESPECIALLY TO ANY CHILD WHO HAS A DISABILITY. They are patient,kind, and TEACH INCLUSION, MAKING SURE THAT THE CHILD WHO LIVES WITH THE DISABILITY IS NOT OSTRACIZED FOR HAVING ONE. They teach what they live and live what they teach. Not only that, but the pastor is a DAMN GOOD shepherd who knows how to reach children. I wish I had been in their program!

Take it from someone who WASN'T welcomed at OTHER Christian institutions when I say that Ascension Lutheran is the best place to send your child. The people are friendly, they are loving, and they will give your child a positive impression of God.

As the mother of two boys, who have both attended this school, I HIGHLY recommend this program to anyone looking for an outstanding, personal touch preschool. From the moment you walk in, you can feel how much the teachers and staff care for all of the children, with a genuine passion. In a span of 8 years, I have NEVER had a bad experience. This is a truly special group of people who truly enjoy the time they spend with our children. 8 thumbs up!
