  Excellent, enthusiastic guides are the key here, providing context and local color. Features an immersive exhibit on the human development of the Atchafalaya wetlands. Be sure as well to visit the Plaquemine lock house nearby.

  I really enjoyed this museum.
  It was a small place, but the curator was there personally, and she made an awful lot of what she had to work with. My family spent the morning here and we really got a lot out of the exhibits.
