Singletree Gun and Plough

Views of Moore's Knob are second to none. It's convenient to Hanging Rock State Park. Staying in one of their cozy cabins is "glamping" at it's best. The host and hostess are friendly and helpful. There's a general store between the cabins and the park. There's no light pollution or traffic noise. We had a six-point buck wander past our cabin. Just beautiful.

Our family gave my father a surprise 80th birthday party over Easter weekend 2019. My sister and I worked with Johannah and Willie for several months prior. Their attention to detail and expertise are incredible! They are very easy to access and they are prompt in returning emails, calls and texts.

Our experience was excellent! We had food catered (through Johannah) - lasagna and manicotti one night and a NC BBQ dinner the following night. The catering is outstanding, the portions are more than generous, and the price is unbelievably affordable!

We were scheduled to stay at the Lodge and Windblow cabin. Due to water damage from a storm that day, our cabin residents were upgraded to a larger house and all was well.

The Lodge has 7 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. It is clean, rustic, eclectic and very comfortable. It never felt crowded, even with 22 of us in there at once.

We had a wonderful time and would recommend the Singletree properties to anyone looking for a little time away from it all. It is great for couples and families (cabins) or far larger groups. If only Johannah and Willie could control the weather...

Hard to believe a place like this exists only 2 hours from the Triangle. Hanging Rock state park is a stone's throw away. The lodge and owners (Johannah and Willie) are great. The Windblow Ridge Cabin in particular, views are amazing on the deck. Sunsets are perfectly centered over the hills in the distance. Dark at night (great view of Milky Way). No TV or internet in the remote cabins (you can still get it in the Lodge). Nothing you don't need. Just peace and quiet which we all need sometimes. Great for going hiking or anything on the Dan River. Been here twice and definitely plan on going back.

Johannah went above and beyond just giving us a beautiful place to stay! We were celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary and this was definitely the way to go! Johannah took us to the local bar to meet fun new friends and let us use her wonderful deck and pool table when we came home from our Zipline trip. The next morning we ate a wonderful breakfast while she called to make us reservations for a kayak trip and packed us a lunch to take with us! To top it all off she even met us on the water to take our picture and emailed it to me a few days later. I cannot say enough great things about our stay! Singletree Gun and Plough is definitely the place to go if you're looking to be treated like royalty. It was easily one of our favorite vacation weekends.

Singletree is an exceptional place to visit and stay. Located atop a splendid knoll, Moore's Wall at Hanging Rock State Park, greets your wondering eyes from every turn. The ambiance is friendly and welcoming. The hosts are fantastic folks. I would recommend Singletree Gun and Plough to anyone wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle!
