My boyfriend and I hiked this afternoon (Dec 25th). There were 5 to 7 cars in the parking lot. Loved the hike. It's one of our favorite winter hiking spots. The only problem was that it was too windy today. We made a snowman on our way back. 😃

Great hike just west of Boulder or right up Coal Creek Canyon. The hike has a couple difficult spots and an area of steep stairs. The sections down by the creek are beautiful and relaxing. The trail is mostly well maintained with several gorgeous views of the west side of Eldorado canyon.

I came here on a Saturday morning in April. Parking can get tricky near trailheads -esp at the parking lots- throughout the day since lots of people head here, but there is ample parking along the road. This trail has a beautiful landscape on a fairly easy hike. People can also be found fishing, running, mountain biking, and climbing.

Walker Ranch is one of my go to hiking/running trails in the Boulder area. The terrain is varied with rolling incline and declines along with some flat terrain mixed in. My most recent experience was a little ill equiped having only trail runners and micro spikes. There was at least a couple feet of snow in some places where I could have benefited from snow shoes or high gaiters. Still always a pleasure to be in nature. Love this place!

Great hike that isn’t too far from town, but far enough away from the crowds. We went on Thursday 10/8/2020 and got to the trailhead right at sunrise. We basically had the trail to ourselves for several hours. The trail goes through many different terrains. As the day progressed, there were some mountain bikes and other walkers. Everyone was very friendly and respectful.

We went clockwise from the trailhead. Just over an 8 mile loop with over 1500 feet of elevation gain. Some spots were more difficult than others. Overall it was a very enjoyable hike. The trail was very well maintained and easy to see where the path was.

Bring lots of water and snacks. Several sections of the trail are exposed, so you’ll also want a hat and/or sunscreen.
