My 9 year old son is now 3 years into his Kung Fu lessons and I have to say I am still pleased. The two black belt instructors (Sifu's) aren't overly aggressive and work very well with children. The classes are separated by age groups and my sons particular class has about 12 students ages 5 to 12. The instructors are friendly and show patience and care with these younger pupils. Benches are provided around the training floor where parents and family members are welcome to sit and observe the class. In their teachings, the Sifu's emphasize Eastern philosophies among which respect for others is highly regarded (which I believe in turn teaches respect for oneself). Students are given the opportunity to take part in tournaments and exhibitions on a voluntary basis. I mainly enrolled my son as a confidence booster... to help him stand up for himself and even for others that may be in need. He seems to be heading in the right direction, making new friends and enjoying himself at the same time which is always a plus.
