Hunan Empress

Hands down the best Chinese food I’ve ever had in St. Louis and so far, the best I’ve had yet. The food is very good, my go-to is the general tso’s chicken and steamed rice with some crab Rangoon. They give generous portion sizes in relation to the cost, and the employees are always very friendly. Cannot recommend it enough!

They are back open for inside seating, nothing fancy just good food at great prices. Very pleasant waitresses. They do a large amount of takeout. I was lucky enough to see Chewy the last time I was in and she looks great.

Dine is in back. Personally this is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in stl. This is not a cookie cutter restaurant and has good tasting food. The general taso has fresh garlic and ginger in it. The hot and sour soup has a unique restaurant and is absolutely beautiful and I love it. The lunch menu is almost too cheap! There were Definitely issues during covid times with the quality food but now that dine in is back everything back to how I love it.
Notes for self. Potstickers were weirdly sweet and gigantic.

First time patron, sesame chicken lunch special is phenomenal, wonton soup is excellent as well! Speedy service, waiting less than 10 minutes for a To go order!
