Hawthorne at Mirror Lake

Beautiful community in Villa Rica. All other apartments aren't as nice as this one. I was told that the gym is 27-7 and the business lounge. That works with my schedule. This property management team is the best.

I had such a nice experience touring the property. I loved how they have buildings with elevators. I recently had knee surgery and it's difficult to use the stairs. Everyone in the office was helpful and maintenance even welcomed me. I will most definitely recommend my church members to your facility. Good job everyone

I stopped by the office today and Ms. Alisia gave me a lot of information. My mom is looking for a place to live and I'm most definitely going to let my mom know to submit her application and let my friends know. Such wonder clean grounds and friendly staff. I was even offered a drink.

After living in Hawthorne at Mirror Lake for one year, I'd like to provide my honest review for future or prospective tenants. I'll start by sharing the pros, then go into the cons. For the most part, at least for me, the pros heavily outweigh the cons.

Pros:

-Maintenance is VERY responsive. This was one of my determining factors for an apartment. A lot of places have unresponsive maintenance crews, but not Hawthorne at Mirror Lake. Honestly this is one of the best things about this place, never having to worry about your appliances being neglected.

-Location. It's right off I-20 and just a quick ride to Atlanta. There are grocery stores and restaurants all within 10 mins of the complex, but without the heavy traffic.

-Peace. The grounds are quiet for the most part and I never have issues with noise or rowdy neighbors. I feel safe walking around as a single woman. I like having a gate so it is controlled who enters (for the most part, see cons.) I am on the first floor but rarely hear my upstairs neighbor apart from occasional stomping.

-Amenities. The apartment was clean and move in ready. All the appliances function well and aren't old or outdated. The central heat and air conditioning work amazingly fast and well. My windows are big and let in lots of natural light. I'm in the 2nd smallest apartment (837 sq ft) but it doesn't feel cramped or tiny. The public pool, gym, business center, tennis courts, and small dog park are all kept pretty clean. What is shown on the website is ACTUALLY how it looks!

-The staff. Everyone that works in the office is amazingly sweet, kind, friendly, and understanding. They will listen and work with you if you have any issues and do their best to assist you, even when they are understaffed.

Now for the cons...

-The gate. Gate is constantly malfunction, which allow anyone in and out. I've lost count how many times I've seen the gate open since I moved in. Kind of defeats the purpose of living in a gated community and paying the premium for it.

-Mail. We pay for Amazon Hub BUT USPS seems to be the only ones that use it if the package doesn't fit in the mailbox. Amazon will not use this hub for whatever reason. Thankfully, I have had no issues with packages magically disappearing from my front door!

-Rent increase. This place is pretty expensive as is, even if you are just getting a one bedroom, but when I moved in I was willing to pay more for the extra security of a gate, the amenities they offered and the location. However I'm not sure what was the determiner for my $200 rent increase because no updates or upgrades have been made to my unit. After next year I will probably be priced out if not offered a lowered or discount rate. It's a shame because it seems like they do not offer much financially for their reliable long term residents who pay their dues on time every month.

-Smoking. Apartment 1207 in building 1000 smokes marijuana heavily so the smell travels through the vents to apartments 1307 and 1107.

Overall, I have loved living here and look forward to staying another year as I have signed a new lease. Hawthorne at Mirror Lake is a gem compared to almost every other apartment complex in the area. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a quiet, lovely place to live.

It’s been an overall average experience here at Hawthorne. The fast paced rent increases since September are ridiculous. The apartment was not cleaned well when we moved in and there are many unruly neighbors who fight all the time. Still better than last apartment complex I was at. If you’re going to spike rent $500 in a few months time, I’d suggest fully renovating each unit. Also, although in Mirror Lake community, these apartments are not special. They are average.

Changing my review because we just moved out and they were fair and professional. This is is the second apartment complex I have lived in, best one! Thank you for a great experience.
