Van Dam Auto and Truck Repair

This is the first time that I've used Van Dam. The catalytic converter had been stolen from my Hyundai Tucson. Jim took the car in immediately. I asked him to check the brakes and do an oil change in addition to replacing the catalytic converter. He called to tell me that the front brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced but the rear were almost like new. I was surprised when he told me when I could pick the car up. It was less than 24 hours since I dropped it off. I also consider the pricing to be reasonable. I am very happy with the work that they did. I addition to all that, Jim is very personable. I felt comfortable and trusting. I highly recommend using Jim Van Dam for your auto repair needs. I know I will.

Jim and his team are some of the most professional and qualified mechanics I have dealt with. His team did an expert job on repairing a major cooling system failure in my 2013 Audi S5. I have moved all our automotive (3 cars) and Class A Motorhome RV repair needs to his shop because we trust him and his service is excellent at a great value.

First time using Van Dam auto and truck repair, am very satisfied with the work preformed. Needed brake service for front and rear. Brakes work better than new. Could not be happier. Definitely recommend Van Dam.

About 4 years ago, I decided I was done trying to work with the local Honda dealer in Orland Park. I had had too many bad overpriced experiences there. The straw that broke the camel's back was when the dealer told me I needed "a", as in singular, new brake caliper and wanted to charge me $1100 to do so. That was the day that I found Jim Van Dam. Jim replaced the caliper and completed a few other maintenance items and the bill was just over $400. Most recently Jim took care of my transmission which had a chattering issue between 40 and 50 mph. I expected the trans to be toast. Jim ran 32 quarts of trans fluid and cleaner through my transmission, and the car runs like new. $388 instead of a new trans - which I am sure Honda would have gladly offered me - for $3000 - $4000. I believe in Jim and his service techs. They are HONEST and top notch and I would never hesitate to take any of my cars to him - no matter what they needed. You'll be in good hands.
