Dr. John S Kim, MD

I don't see why all those 1 star reviews. I only gave 4 stars 'cause I haven't even started my treatments yet. That's right, I haven't even seen the doctor yet! So, why 4 stars you ask? Well, this is my take on my high
expectancy of this place by how I was greeted the very first time I called to set up an appointment. I immediately felt like I had a relative in the business! I asked some rambling questions due to my unique circumstances and Ms. Yoon was so patient and thoughral in explaining procedures and what to expect, I actually called back just to let her know how much I appreciated on how I was greeted and made me feel like all will be perfect and will get the best care from this place. Now, that's great customer service that I haven't experienced elswhere!
I now update this review after actually having been seen by the doctor, prepped well by the front staff and flew thru the surgery. They were everything I felt they would be, they were excellent!!! They are true 5 STARS !!!

I don't know why are several 1-star reviews complaining about the waiting time. Dr. Kim actually speaks to his patients and takes the time to explain everything and it's always been my experience that I wait no more than 5-10 minutes per visit. There might be other doctors with a slightly shorter waiting time but they only see you for 2-3 minutes (you are not a person to them) and they look so annoyed when you ask questions! (Not Dr. John Kim!)

Anyway, I wouldn't go to Dr. Kim unless he is competent, knowledgeable, and is willing to treat you like a human being. I think this is my 15-16th year with Dr. Kim

Edit: I just realized that all the bad reviews are for an eye doctor with the same name John Kim, who also practices in Fort Lee "John Kim" is such a common name but I still think Google should be doing something to correct these wrong reviews. It's like writing a review for McDonalds under burger king.

I woke up with a swollen eyelid and couldn't open my eye. I called the office and the receptionist took me in the same day. Dr. Kim examined my eye and prescribed two medications. I took the prescribed medications and got better within days.

I have been going to Dr. Kim for over 20 years and have only had positive experiences. I first went to him as an emergency------on a Saturday------and was treated with professionalism and courtesy. No matter when I call if I have a problem, the office always manages to squeeze me in to get treated. Dr. Kim has even contacted me at home once when I called the office after hours on a weekend and needed medication for conjunctivitis.
