Learn To Surf

We were two people for the lesson.
We all arrived early so we had a slightly longer lesson. Rod, our instructor, was great. He was in his 50s and very experienced not just with surfing but with teaching as well. He started us through the basics on the beach and then took us out individually for three practice runs so he could see how we handled in the water. I was very glad how careful he was with safety and going slowly to make sure we learned how to handle the board in the surf without hurting ourselves. We got situated and then had a lovely two hours in the surf. We stayed in chest high water only and didn't take anything difficult as it was a novice class so it was a gentle introduction to surfing which was perfect for two middle aged men.

Despite living across the street from the beach, I never go into the water for fear it is too cold. But my friend and I always wanted to learn how to surf. We finally
made the decision to book a 2 hour lesson with LEARN TO SURF and so happy we did. Our instructor,
Rod was so awesome!!! He taught us the beginner fundamentals such as the
pop up, paddling tips, and some important safety measures before heading out to the ocean.
One of my concerns was the water being too cold, however the wetsuits they
provided us kept up warm and the conditions to learn were perfect.
Towards, the end of our session, I was surprised to be able to catch a couple waves on our own. And at one point my friend
and I were able to catch the same party wave. We will be coming back for another lesson and will be requesting ROD. Such
a sweet and knowledgeable person. It was the best time I've ever had out in the water. I believe he said it was his birthday today so Happy birthday ROD!!!! And thank you so much for making learning to surf so much fun for us!!!!

My son is taking surf class from them! Coach Jack and Coach Hunter are amazing! You can bring your own stuff or they will provide everything you need. One tip, try to arrive at least 15 mins earlier, sometimes it would be hard to find a parking spot.

The highlight of our trip, absolutely amazing! Jack is sunshine and he was so supportive and celebrated every time Bryce stood up on his board. He stood up on his 1st or 2nd try, we couldn't believe it. We booked the night before for Huntington Beach, but when I called to confirm (from the email), they told us Newport Beach would be better for a beginner that day due to wave size. It was June Gloom weather for sure but we had an amazing time and all thanks to Jack and Learn to Surf. Book with them!!

What a great morning we had!! Jason was so professional and accommodating and made a great recommendation regarding the best day to book our lesson. Hunter and Dayne were encouraging and enthusiastic and everyone was up on their boards right away. We can’t thank you enough for introducing us to the world of surfing!! Check that off the bucket list :)
