Bauerle Ranch Park

Fun hiking trails with creeks & interesting water control features (like concrete dams). Connects to a lot of other trails to the east so you can go for miles. I recommend hitting up the rail bridge to the east as a hiking destination.

Bauerle Ranch Park at Slaughter Creek is located in South Austin. Great place for Mountain Biking, hiking and Running. 3.5+ miles of trails in a hidden gem greenbelt tucked in-between the neighborhoods of HillCrest, Estates of Bauerle Ranch, and Shady Hollow with neighborhood access to the trails.

This trail is great for mountain biking and walking. The trails are more of a natural (nature) environment, rarely maintained along the pathways. Watch for snakes in the tall grass on the less traveled trails.

Trails are very well marked.

So much wildlife to be seen, birds, rabbits, squirrels, and deer.

Super underrated neighborhood park with many miles of single track trails and great wildlife. Usually don’t run into too many people and the wildflowers lately have been amazing.

Really nice park but had a heck of a time trying to find the entrance. Wherever Google takes you is not correct. I recommend you get over to corner of Currin Ln & Alsatia Dr - that has an entrance to the Slaughter Creek Trail and lots of street parking.

I explored about half the grounds and did the skinny loop that goes Northwest around the dry pond - the loop is 7 miles. Would like to come back & do the other side, or the full park loop.

The trail is pretty narrow - basically single file, if there's more of you - but well defined and not busy so had no problem getting by.

Nice trail with a lot of off shoots. Some shade but didn’t seem to see any water in July. Make sure to pack some out especially if you have a dog with you. Trail is very easy otherwise with some nice views.
