Dede Gilmore Memorial Park

Love this park great path for biking and walking

This is one of the namesake parks in Coral Springs. It sits on the same canal as Ralph Diaz Memorial Park to the east. This 4 acre park was dedicated to popular athlete and volunteer Dede Gilmore in 1995. At the time of the dedication the park received $125,000 of improvements. "She was leader of the "Meet the Masters Art Awareness Program", host of an annual fundraiser for Kids in Distress, swimming teacher to over 1,000 area residents, coordinator of numerous blood drives and an active member of the Coral Springs Tennis Association.". Dede played golf and tennis, taught water aerobics, and was a dedicated volunteer to Ramblewood Elementary School. In 1994 Dede Gilmore was 38 years old and a mother of two when she was riding her bike and was struck and killed by a motorist.

Park amenities include an exercise path, pavilion, playground, swings, tennis court, bike rack, water fountain, and horseshoe pit. The playground is currently closed to Covi-19 but the tennis court was open. This is one of many neighborhood parks in Coral Springs. There isn't anything here that requires a special trip but it is a nice resource for people living in the neighborhood. Coral Springs honored a woman who loved sports and gave so much to her community with a park that can be enjoyed by the children and other outdoor enthusiasts.

My granddaughter had a great time on the swings and her little castle
