ATA Martial Arts Maryland Bel Air

My 8-year-old son started at ATA Martial Arts in Bel Air, MD about six months ago. My parents, who are elderly, live with me and my family. So, we had been very cautious over the past two years due to the COVID pandemic. As a result, my son missed out on many opportunities to mix with other kids, which caused him to become overly introverted. I saw him open up and gain so much confidence since starting at ATA. He absolutely loves going to practices and interacting with the instructors and other kids in his class. I can’t emphasize enough how amazing the instructors are there. They are strict, but take the time to work with all of the kids to help them improve their skills. They mix in humor with their instruction and make learning martial arts fun. I highly recommend ATA Martial Arts in Bel Air.

We are so glad we found ATA in Bel Air! They are so great with the kids and keep them moving. We instantly felt at home and knew this would be a long term thing for us. We have both kids enrolled in aftercare, summer camp and weekly lessons. They love it and we couldn’t be happier with the whole program.

When my son started at ATA about 5 months ago I had no idea what we were getting into. Not only have I watched my son gain confidence and self awareness, he is now apart of the ATA family. He looks forward to earning each strip and setting goals. He works hard when he isn’t able to get something right and I watch this perseverance transfer over into his school work every day. He struggled with focus and sitting still but I’ve seen such a big improvement with this and I know ATAs teaching has alot to do with it. Their teachers truly care about the success of their students. We can’t wait to see what he can do next. Watching your child love something that they put their whole body and mind into is the greatest gift a parent can receive.

If you’re looking for a well structured and engaging outlet for your child’s energy, then ATA Marital Arts is the place to be. Instruction focuses on developmental areas like control, teamwork, and fitness, along with five other fundamental martial art skills. We came to ATA because previous activities my 5yo had tried, such as dance and soccer, became boring after the repetition of the same lessons/practices each week. ATA has never been a battle to get her to come to, even after months of involvement, so far. The staff does a great job of meeting the students at their level and keeping things interesting every lesson. While there may be some sticker shock, you will definitely get your money’s worth, and unlike many other local karate programs, belt promotions are included. No extra fees. Now that’s what I call winning.
