Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center

This place is a little bit of paradise here in Central Texas. It is well worth the beautiful hike that it takes to get down to the grotto. Being able to experience completely different Ecco systems in such a small area is truly amazing. I can't wait to check it out in all the different seasons. Thank you to all of the volunteers that keep it in such a pristine natural environment.

We came here and did the guided tour. Our tour Lacey did a great job explaining the preserves. She genuinely appreciates nature and does a great job explaining different plants and animals to everyone there. We enjoyed our time and glad we were able to make it out here

Check their website about reservations. The trail is kinda long and arduous, but most can do it fairly easily. There is a lot of history you will learn on this guided tour. There is a tiny cave you can walk into briefly and you can walk almost all around the pool. It felt like walking through a fairytale.

A real gem! Perfect natural beauty. You need to book, with the early slot being preferable due to heat and sightings. We had an extremely knowledgeable and very entertaining Guide - Meagan. This is a definite must see if you are into nature. It’s a 1 hour guided walk to the grotto and then you can walk back and take photos as you please in your time slot. The also have great reception facilities.

It is such a beautiful place. My only issue is the amount of people you do the tour with means there is a lot of "people noise" that you have to endure during the walk. But other than that, it was so absolutely gorgeous.
