She really took time to make sure we understood everything and would answer questions anytime we messaged or spoke with her. Everyone that she recommended (lenders, insurance agents, roofers, and inspectors) were amazing as well. We really can't say enough about how much we appreciate the work she put in to help us get our home. The selling agent and seller of the house we fell in love ended up being unprofessional and difficult to work with. Irene handled the situation in a way that made us feel secure and well taken care of. Her experience and knowledge were invaluable in ensuring a positive end result. My wife and I started our out of state real estate journey by using Google searches for a realtor partner. We had parallel searches in ID and CO, using the same search criteria, so we have a comparison. The two realtors in ID wouldn’t take time to help us or answer questions, kept advising us to move there in person to help the search. They responded to all communication on their own time, rarely following up. It was almost as though we were an out of state nuisance. That experience gave us that feeling of “are we doing the right thing here?”. When we found Irene, it was a completely different experience, but we were already skeptical. She never asked us to move anywhere, but kept working with us for remote searches using FaceTime and whatever other methods available to partner with us. Just that experience alone tilted our search to CO and we never looked back. I can go on and on about our experience so bear with me. When I flew out with my daughter to scope out the area, Irene met us, stayed through our on site experience and also advised us on where to visit while we were in CO. For every transaction on our new build, she was there in person, never missed a meeting. It got to the point where we would work the schedule so all three of us showed for every new build meeting. We ended up doing the bad cop /good cop approach with the sales and the contractor, but the partnership was strong and they knew it. Wait, there’s more. While any realtor can get you to the final signature, the relationship didn’t end there. A new build requires a lot of post-sales work, fix issues minor and major through the home warranty process. Irene was there for all of that too. She bought us a home, roof and sewer inspection to give to the warranty team, things we would have never found on our own. We needed additional work done, also gave us references to her contacts for handyman work and other additions. On the communication front, we set a high bar for that because my wife and I are in professions that require it. Let’s just say checkbox+ in that regard, whether live, phone, text, and/or email. I can’t stress this enough though. A large transaction such as a home purchase requires total trust and a true partnership between home purchaser and realtor. If you can’t establish that, then this will be much, much harder than it has to be. I have no problems what-so-ever recommending Irene for the job to friends, family, co-workers and whoever is reading this. Actually, I already recommended an out of state co-worker and he sounds like me in regards to Irene and his successful experience and transaction. Do yourself a favor, give her a try and challenge that my review is wrong. Trying is free, but the experience you stand to gain is priceless. See my subject line in closing.

When beginning my search as a first-time home buyer, there were a lot of things I didn't know and I also didn't feel comfortable with any of the stories my friends were telling of their buying experiences in the Denver area. I ended up using an agent that I did not know and who just reached out to me on their own, which ended up being Irene Shick. I choose her because she is top 5% agent in the area, is local, and just had a great personality over the phone. She was there along every step of the way helping with all of my questions and moving things forward very quickly in the process. She was amazing at guiding me through the home buying process. She offered some great advise and also some great referrals for inspectors, contractors, and lenders. I really cannot thank her enough for the help and service she provided, she goes above and beyond and taught me a lot. I won the first offer I put on a house because I listened to her advise. We won the house and it was appraised for $7k higher than our offer. I highly suggest working with her - she is also a local to Colorado which I loved!
