Pelee Island Adventures

Spent a fabulous weekend (Sep 9-11) at Pelee Island with 5 girlfriends celebrating my milestone birthday. The weather co-operated and was spectacular! I booked the Vin Villa Tour with Clay as our host, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! Clay presented the history of Vin Villa and the island with such vast knowledge, and the infectious enthusiasm he exuded in telling it made the tour so much more interesting. It was a truly awesome tour, and all the ladies loved it! Thank you Clay and Pelee Island Adventures!! Will definitely highly recommend! PS - I can't even imagine how spectacular any future events held in this beautiful location will be!

We had a great time on Pelee Island this past Labour Day weekend. Arrived on the ferry and we were in a golf cart 15 minutes later. Friendly staff and a great way to see the island in 4 hours. Golf carts were brand new and in great condition. All in all a great experience!

If you're looking for a way to get around the island and don't want to walk or pedal a bike yourself - this is the place to rent a golf cart or e-bike to get you around Pelee island. The ferry was fully booked and we couldn't take our vehicle - so we found Pelee Island Adventures and booked a golf cart for the day (there are 4 or 7 hour rental options). We did the 7 hr option since we were on the island for the day and 7 hrs was perfect.
I'm pretty sure it would be best to book your rental online, and complete the waivers ahead of time so when you arrive on the island, it's an easy pick up of the cart and you won't have to fill out any paperwork there.
The ferry landed around 11am and Pelee Island Adventures is a short walk away from the dock. When you hit the main street, turn right and it's just a short walk away on the left hand side.
We were greeted by the owner - Clayton - who gave us a quick safety walkover and showed us controls of the golf cart. If you're a golfer and driven a golf cart before, it's exactly the same - BUT - these carts are much quieter. Also - there are bluetooth speakers on the cart so you can sync your phone and listen to tunes while you drive around the island!
Our cart was very clean and was essentially in like new condition. The cart is very easy to drive and is a great option to get you around the island (and save your energy for hikes/trails). We had enough time to drive around the whole island, stopping along the way to do a few hikes and exploring the shops, winery and a few other places. It wasn't too much more cost to rent the cart for 7hrs vs 4 hrs, however book appropriately depending on the timing you booked the ferry for your return trip home. I think the 4 hour rental would still give you enough time to drive the whole island if you had to.
As you drive along the island - many people will wave and smile - so wave and smile back! :)
We had zero issues with our cart and would highly recommend this option for others to try. It's obviously more expensive than the bicycle rental option available, but I think it's well worth it!
This is the only place in Canada where you can legally drive golf carts on regular roads! It's a great experience and is highly recommended.

We rented e-bikes for the day, and had a blast exploring the island! The staff at Pelee Island Adventures were great - they taught us how to operate the bikes and gave us suggestions on where to go/how to make the most of our day. We got soaked by an intense rainstorm when we were on our way back to return the bikes at the end of the day, and one of the staff members let us dry off inside the store even though it was closed. Highly appreciated since it made for a more comfortable ferry ride back to Leamington. (We also enjoyed the conversation with them!)

Like new cart. Clean. Excellent condition. Ran perfect. Pleasant people. Efficient pick up and drop off. Great way to see and experience the island.
