Journey Church of Sanford

We have been attending Journey Church from the time it was part of newhope church out of Durham. Our first visit to newhope (now Journey) was through the invitation of a close neighbor and dear Friends, John and Theresa Wood. Tauna and I had just taken in a young girl who was homeless and had substance abuse issues, and we were looking for a place to get her engaged that was a little more appropriate than the very traditional Methodist church we had been attending. From the moment we walked through the door we were welcomed and felt at home. That was 2017. JCOS is a family of believers who welcomed us, cared for us, challenged us and made sure we were "known and needed".
Every church has challenges and family issues to work through. JCOS has been here for us (and the rest of the family) through COVID, personal loss, heart breaks, celebrations, funerals and new beginnings. If you're looking for a church family, some folks who will love and encourage, challenge you with the truth and help you back up when you fall. Come test the waters !

The congregation, started and named Journey Church of Sanford with the hard work and guidance of Pastor Josh. Journey believes in living by the word of God and following his teachings. If you want truth, faithfulness, and love through Jesus, join the Journey. Pastor Josh and Crystal have dedicated their lives to serving God and it shows through all the things that Journey has to offer.

The first time I came to this church, I was greeted at the door with genuine joy and smiles. This place felt like I was finally home, and truly made me feel like family. The childrens ministry is amazing and the the kids have so much fun! The pastor has such a servants heart and a genuine love for the church. A truly great leader. There are so many churches in Sanford, but Journey Church is truly blessed by the hand of God.

Journey Church of Sanford is a very friendly, family oriented, Bible based church. If you are looking for a home they will welcome you with open arms. Come as you are.

I have been a part of this church since it’s beginning and I have to say it is full of loving people that love God and desire to grow in his wisdom. Pastor Josh is a warm and caring person with a servant’s heart.
