Southgate Wheat & Rye

We brought our son here this past Sunday after attempting their Allen Park location and immediately walking out after their rude customer service. Came to the Southgate location instead. Was greeted with a smiling face and told to have a seat wherever we’d like. Sat down and our server immediately came over with menus and to get our drink order. I can’t remember our waitresses name but she was absolutely superb! Wife and I each got the ribeye dinner, and our son got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich! The portions were huge. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Baked potatoes and fries were great. We got Mac n cheese bites and fried mushrooms with ranch and they were awesome as well! Great food and service all around, and will absolutely be back to this location!

Their Giant stacked ham is huge and so is the Ruben well worth the trip. Only complaint I had was the pickle was in with the Ruben instead of under the paper so my Ruben was soaked with the juice but usually it's under the paper. BTW that Ruben is so huge it can be shared as half is way more then enough to feed two people unless you are a big eater.

I like this Wheat & Rye. I actually went to this loacation for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It's seems much better than the one in Allen Park.

I ordered chicken wings and french fries. Both were pretty good. I would like to come back at some point to get some of their other food, even though much of their menu is similar to Allen Park location.

Generally speaking, it's a pretty well-rounded bar. The prices are good, the service is attentive and it's good a good atmosphere.

Overall, I would definitely come back to this place.

Philly steak and cheese was large and good. The meat was chopped up too fine though.

The waitress was nice and attentive.

The bar gets REAL loud and it doesn't help that they let kids run around screaming.

Slow service, but friendly and accurate.
