  Beautiful place. Not dog or bike friendly! But great to bring the whole family though maybe no babies or really young kids as there is a path with water and you don't want playful kids to fall in! You'll always find animals here even with the worst weather. Many photographers hang out here for good reason. The trails are not hard and are very flat so perfect for a beginner. Love driving out here. There's also a lot of popular stores near by if you want to grab a well deserved meal after visiting the beautiful sites!

  Love Huntley Meadows! A cute slice of nature in the middle of the suburbs. Great place to view wildlife

  This is a hidden gem in NOVA! It was freeeeeeezing when I went, but still a blast. Very nice and peaceful walk through the wetland. You see geese in their natural habitat, herrons, and other awesome birds. Beaver dams are awesome, but probably too cold to see a beaver now. I definitely plan to come back with a high powered lens to capture more of the wildlife. There is even an observation deck that helps you get a nice elevated view of the area. Will be back!!

  This is my favorite go to place. Good for relaxing, walking, and photography with its mixed terrain mostly trees and marsh. You can observe some wild animals if you are lucky mainly birds and turtles. For Fall colors come late October, early November. If you are visiting in summer spray yourself with mosquito repellent. Never too crowded.

  This a great park to do some bird watching as well as see the different array of wildlife while you are walking on the boardwalk. The trails are about a couple of miles long, not a big as some of the other parks but definitely a great place to get some exercise in. Just make sure to bring the water bottle and the bug spray during the summer times because it does get hot. Great part to visit in the Fairfax area.
