Bake Oven Knob Parking

Great trail to hike on and wonderful view if you go down all the way

This parking area is great for accessing the Appalachian Trail or just for taking the short hike to the Bake Oven Knob overlook, which is northbound on the trail. If you go south on the trail from the parking area, there is Bear Rocks and Knife's Edge overlooks, both are on the AT. This part of the trail is pretty easy since the parking area is already at the top of the mountain.

Amazing area, ran the AT and it was right on the trail. Easy to find west and east entrances and people were friendly who were up there bird watching and hiking. Would park here again when running around the AT.

Good short hike even the parking lot has beautiful leaves in the fall. Highly recommend but be careful on the rocks.

The most helpful information would be to take Bake Oven Road from the South to Parking Area. The dirt road is very well maintained and resembles national park quality. Bake Oven Rd from the North is a very steep rocky road and 4-wheel drive vehicles could find it difficult! Especially in poor weather conditions. Keep it clean and safe!
