  Crew are working Merchant Marines and know the ship and its history. Tour guides are vets that have a fun streak; they tolerated the kids well. The overnight was uncomfortable, but it's supposed to be; that's the only way you can imagine what it was like to serve on such a vessel in WWII.

  If you are ever in the Bay Area or in California, consider paying a visit to the SS Jeremiah O'Brien. It is truly a work of art and beauty. You have the opportunity to explore a World War II ship and see how life functioned back then during those times. Be prepared for lots of walking.

  A rare view: the famous liberty-ship. And in very good condition thanks to motivated and passionate volunteers. Enjoyed very much the self-guide tour, which gives you sufficient information about the ship. More details can be found in the museum area. Very interestingly done! One gets a good idea of life at sea on board such a ship. For me a must visit when in San Francisco.

  Did the Fleet Week 2018 Saturday cruise and it was amazing! All you can eat/drink and we cruised out underneath the Golden Gate bridge then along the San Francisco shorefront. Then we parked out by Alcatraz and had an incredible view of the air show and the Blue Angels.
  
  Crew was super helpful and friendly. A lot of love goes into keeping the ship operating and it shows.
  
  Would caution that it was tough with a 1-year-old, although there was plenty of room to run around and people were quite accommodating. Bring your own chairs so that you can stake out a place for the day. It's also a long day (7 hours), so make sure to bring sunscreen and water!

  It was so much fun taking the kids through the different corridors and spaces. A lot of history in there. There was even a cute gift shop inside. It was amazing to climb to the top and see San Francisco from that view. Breathtaking. Really helps you appreciate what you have and what it took to make it all happen.
