  I love a pleasant surprise, and today I got one. Visiting the Social Security office was actually an experience in efficiency. Yes it is intimidating to go there, and it's almost comical that it is intimidating. However, the process that they have for moving people through is sufficient and if one does not fight that system one will enjoy expedient service. I couldn't be happier as long as they did everything right.

  Went to SSA on behalf of our client. My first impression of SSA, was the security officers. They were courteous, polite to everyone, always offering help and keeping order in the lobby.
  The lady, L, who provided me information needed for our office, was professional and did the best she could. Very pleased! Thank you. I appreciate it.

First call was caller ID Social Security Administration, and no message left on VM. Second call was less than 3 mins later, not caller ID'd, but same number 1 800 772-1213. Message left was to press 1 re: "assets and security". I did not call back.

I was left the telephone number 253-333-8277 for the return call. I went to my local SSA office and was advised the SSA uses groups around the US to handle online queries.
